Job Description:
The Director of Quality Assurance (QA) is responsible for
developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and
strategies to ensure product quality, environmental regulatory
compliance, and continuous improvement. This leadership role will
oversee QA operations, ensuring alignment with industry standards,
regulatory requirements, and company objectives while fostering
quality across the organization.Position Location: This position is
located onsite at 3D System's manufacturing facility in Rock Hill,

Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's quality assurance strategy to
ensure compliance with industry regulations, customer requirements,
and internal quality standards.
- Lead and mentor the QA team, promoting a proactive approach to
quality and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including
manufacturing, engineering, regulatory, program management, Field
Service and R&D, to drive quality initiatives for current and
new products.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related
matters with internal and external stakeholders.ISO & Regulatory
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and
regulatory bodies such as ISO, environmental compliance (RoHS,
REACH, PROP65, etc.), and host certification agencies like T--V and
UL for factory inspections.
- Maintain and update Quality Management System (QMS) policies
and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.
- Manage internal audits, including ISO and regulatory
inspections.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to
address audit findings and drive compliance improvements.Quality
Systems & Process Improvement
- Oversee quality control processes, including incoming
inspections and testing of components, assemblies, and finished
products.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Root
Cause Analysis tools to enhance product quality and operational
efficiency.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor and improve key
quality metrics (KPIs Defects per Unit, Cycle Time, and First Pass
Yield).
- Oversee metrology processes.Supplier & Contract Manufacturer
Quality Management
- Assist cross-functional teams, ensuring all suppliers meet
standard quality and regulatory standards.
- Partner with Procurement and Operations teams to resolve
supplier quality issues and drive improvements.
- Oversee the PPAP & First Article Inspection (FAI)
activities.Training & Documentation
- Ensure proper training programs for QA personnel and other
relevant employees on quality systems are in place.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support
compliance, traceability, and audit readiness.QualificationsWhat
You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Quality related
field.
- 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5
years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of industry regulations (ISO 9001,
Environmental compliance).
- Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and process
improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication
skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and drive quality
initiatives in a dynamic environment.Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE),
Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing highly complex electro-mechanical
