Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00-07:00, every other weekend or to meet the needs of the facility Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; 1.5 years in CVICU post-orientation preferred License: Active RN license required Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS); Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred Must-Have: Strong critical thinking skills; 1 year of CVICU experience post-orientation Job Description: - Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a cardiovascular intensive care unit - Manage patient care for those undergoing procedures such as CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and Carotid interventions - Maintain a patient ratio of 2:1, with occasional adjustments to 1:1 as needed - Proficiently operate equipment such as Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Utilize Cerner electronic health records for comprehensive patient documentation - Participate in scheduled rotation float requirements within the facility - Wear professional attire, adhering to a scrub color code policy of any professional color This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic unit that emphasizes strong critical thinking and collaborative care for complex cardiovascular patients. Orientation occurs twice monthly to integrate new staff effectively.
