Health Certified Athletic Trainer works in a primary school,
secondary school, collegiate or semi-professional or professional
setting, with cross-coverage as needed at our affiliate
organizations and/or community sporting events.Benefits:South

Responsibilities:The primary responsibilities will be to evaluate,
plan, direct, document, and administer programs of athletic
training & rehabilitation.Documents athletic training encounters
completely and in a timely manner (day of or within 24 hours) in
the electronic records system.Works closely with other disciplines
and specialties within the health system to ensure highly
coordinated care.Communicates professionally & effectively with
physicians, other clinical staff and leadership.As an MUSC Health
brand ambassador, develops trust with the coaching staff, Athletic
Directors, student-athletes, and parents through effective
communication and coordinated high-quality care.Works closely with
the Sports Medicine Coordinator (ATC) to coordinate the athlete's
schedule, and treatment programs, and recommends solutions for the
athletes healthcare problems.Conducts athlete intake assessments
and maintains medical records for all athletes in our electronic
medical record.Attends annual conferences and MUSC Health staff
meetings.Performs clerical tasks such as assisting with budgets,
restocking supplies and maintaining inventory.Other duties as
assigned.Experience:Must be able to adjust communication both
verbal and non-verbal to interact appropriately and effectively
with a wide variety of age groups including school-age adolescents,
adults, and geriatrics.Weekend and evening hours to cover games,
practices, tournaments, special events and sports performance
training sessions.Previous experience with high school, collegiate
and/or professional sport teams preferred.Job includes local and
travel responsibilities: pre- and post-game treatment as well as
game, practice, and event coverage.Additional Job
DescriptionEducation: Graduate of an accredited college with a
BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training
preferred)License/Certification: Certification by the National
Athletic Trainers Association Graduate of an accredited college
with a BS/BA. (Masters degree in Athletic Training preferred).
Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers
(BOC). Certified as an Athletic Trainer in South Carolina by DHEC.
Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association
