Position Details:

Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: Charlotte NC
Shift: Monday - Friday day shift (on call as needed for site support)
Compensation: $50-$55k
Benefits:
Travel: Minimal travel (opportunities for OTJ training along with plant visits)


Position Description:

Provide technical support for the use of Information Technology and Services within the manufacturing facility and the business sector to meet business objectives. Provide technical assistance to users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Diagnose and solve technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime. Assist and observe the IT / OT Manager as a backup / apprentice for the OT and Manufacturing network.



Responsibilities:

Responsible for ITIL processes and providing computer technical support with a focus on customer service.
Perform troubleshooting related to general user support, client connectivity, and printing.
Utilize ticketing system to track issues and manager location queues to ensure the new tickets are identified, prioritized, and resolved.
Install, test, and maintain computer equipment, peripheral, and network infrastructure.
Assist in new office setup, office moves and setting up PC's and peripherals.
Create network accounts and telephone extensions for new users.
Performance new user computer orientations covering appropriate usage of applications and network recourses.
Provide backup support for local and wide area network telecommunications.
Work with sector teams to support and represent the mill.
Maintain site Video Management System in accordance with relevant policies
Maintain and update documentation, inventory, network diagrams and patch panels
Provide first level support for process control / plant applications. Communicate and esvale issues after thorough assessment.
Perform other duties as assigned by manager.


Requirements:

AS or BS in Computer Science, IT, or a related field OR military service/experience
CompTIA A+ or other relevant certifications, or ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment.
Basic understanding of computer hardware and software with familiarity in Windows and iOS operating systems.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, TCP/IT, DNS, DHCP, Cisco Switch networks.
Handson experience through work experience, internships, lab work or personal projects is desired.
